FARM MANAGER MISSING.
FEARS FOR HiS SAFETY. [by telegraph.—press association.] FEILDING, Wednesday. A middle-aged man, named J. Rampton, has been missing in the back country the Kiwitea County since yesterday morning. Ho is employed as farm manager by A. Brown. He took a horse to a neighbouring farm and started to walk home over the paddocks. He had a good track along a ridge and the distance was only about iwo miies, but as he did not appear at dark a search was made. Police and other parties were out all night and to-day without success. Mr. Rampton had just recovered from influenza and had complained of pains in the head. It is feared that he may have wandered into the gullies. He has a sou and two dau^Kers.
