ONEHUNGA AFFAIRS.
THE UNEMPLOYMENT LOAN.
The Onehunga -Borough Council met last evening, the Mayor, Mr. J. E. Cowell, presiding.
The State Advances Office advised that the proposed unemployment loan of £SOOO had been approved by the Minister of Finance, and the necessary Order-in-Council would shortly be submitted to the council. A rate will be struck to cover interest and sinking fund. The Onehunga Fir? Board notified tha,t in payment for the equipment taken over from the council 26 annual payments of £25 each would be made, v commencing on January 1 next. ' Mr. W. N. Mcintosh gave notice to move that the resolution t6 spend £2300 of the unemployment loan on Felix Street be rescinded; with a view to giving a larger allocation to' other streets. Mr.' J. E. Green gave notice of motion that -a detailed return should be furnished regarding drain-pipes and junctions sup»plied to the Te Papapn drainage works, the number laid and the number stacked ready for laying. "
