FIRE BRIGADE UPKEEP.
STATE SUBSIDY INCREASED.;
[BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] PALMERSTON NORTH. Monday.
In his address at tfye opening of the new fire station the Hon. R. F. Bollard ssid that, a 50 per cent, increase had been granted in the State .sufeidy; to fire brigades; and he hoped still further "to in-. crease it in the future, as he fully realised the valuable work of the brigades. The Palmerston North station cost nearly £J 8,000 to erect, The Minister congratulated the district on this evidence of progress.
