THREE KINGS ROAD.
Sir, —Reading the report of the Mount Roskil] Road Board's meeting in your issue of 14th inst., I was surprised at the attitude of some members in regard to a deputation which waited or. them urging that the Three Kings Road be included in a proposal that is shortly to be put to the vote of the ratepayers for the concreting of Dominion Road. One is justified in. supposing that the board would welcome and show sympathy with such a proposal and feel grateful to the deputation for their interest in the matter. I, with many of the ratepayers, would like to hear from the members opposing the including of the Three Kings Road in the present proposed concreting scheme their reasons for opposing it. I was not one of the deputation that waited on the board, but simply consider this particular road on its merit, not overlooking the fact of its being an arterial road leading into the heart of the district: nor am I one to rush into large borrowing schemes but there are times and cases when the interests of progress and economy demand st and I claim the concreting of both roads to be a clear case in point. W. Martin.
