DRUNK IN MOTOR-CAR.
DRIVER'S LICENSE SUSPENDED [by telegraph.—own correspondent.] CHRISTCETTRCH. Monday. For being drunk while in charge of a motor-car Richard Frederick Calvert, aged 24, of White Rock, was fined £lO in the Police Court to-day, and his license was suspended for three months. Calvert pleaded guilty. Sergeant Cassidy said he found defendant m an intoxicated condition sitting at the wheel of his car outside a dance hall about 11 p.m. Defendant's counsel pleaded mitigating circumstances, and said Calvert- was merely sitting in the car tc allow the effects of the liquor he had taken for his cold tp wear off. / It, was not his intention to return home until "after the dance. The magistrate inflicted the above fine.
