UNIVERSITY COLLEGE.
THE PRESIDENT RE-ELECTED.
The council of the Auckland University College met yesterday, the Hon. Geo. Fowlds presiding. Mr. Fowlds was re-elected president and Mr. Kenneth Mackenzie vice-president. Irx accepting appointment Mr. Fowlds said he did so because he felt that during the coming year he would be of some assistance to the college. Commenting on the departmental reports circulated at. the previous meeting, 'members of the council expressed commendatory opinions on "the work being carried out at the college, particularly ip. the .direction of research.
The use of the college for university and - education board examinations in November and December was granted. Mr. E. Craston was reappointed assis-tant-examiner in music for a further year. Appreciation of lectures given to architecture students by Mr. W. Page Rowe on the subjects of colour, and decoration was expressed,' and a' v6te of thanks was passed. ■ ■*• ' ■ _
