BURGLARY IN THE CITY.
ATTACK ON OFFICE SAFE. NARROW ESCAPE FROM POLICE. After making an attempt to blow up the office safe, a burglar in the premises of R. J. and J. 0. Sims, Anzac Avenue, had a narrow escape from detection on Friday night. The sound of an explosion was heard by the motorman of a passing tramcar and he informed two constables of the incident. It was found that one of the doors, bearing the marks of a jemmy, had been opened. Hearing a man walking about the constables went inside, but the burglar escaped through another door.
