SLACKNESS ON WEST COAST. [BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] ■ GREYMOUTH. Sunday. Owing to lack of orders several West Coast sawmills are either stopping operations br are reducing the staffs. At Kotuku 35 men have been" put off. Men at Mananui' and Kumara are also affected. The district's white pine trade, which was formerly active, is at a standstill. The position in the milling industry on the West Coast at present is regarded as serious.
