MISHAP TO OTRANTO.
FINDINGS OF THE COURT. A. and iC.Z. LONDON, July 16. The inquiry by the Board of Trade into the stranding of the Otranio in the Mediterranean in May has concluded. It has been found that the mishap was not caused by a wrongful act or by the default of the master, Captain Simner, but was due to a northerly current. The Court considers that having regard to the weather conditions which prevailed at the time the master committed errors of judgment in failing to make allowance for the current, which might have been expected, and in not reducing the speed of the steamer earlier.
