DAMAGES FOR ASSAULT.
SEQUEL TO THRASHING. [Br TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRESPONDENT. ] TAIHAPE, Saturday. In the Magistrate's Court Charles Robert Carrie claimed £SO damages from Fred Jensen for alleged assault and loss of dignity through being thrashed in front of fellow workers. It was stated that plaintiff had a jaw broken and sustained other injuries. The magistrate, Mr. Watson, awarded plaintiff £8 under the equity and good conscience clause. Defendant was ordered to pay £8 costs.
