: —r-TT- ; . •• v.c THE INQUEST ADJOURNED. .An inquest concerning the death ofMr. Thomas Clifton Rowley Thatcher, who died suddenly'at his residence,, Ridge Road, Mount, Roskillj-on Friday, was opened on* Saturday before Mr., J, W. Poynton, S.M." Evidence of identification was given by' Constable McGlone and medical evidence lay Dr. D. N.'W. Murray/ who" said there was 'no external marks .of violence, or. indications of the taking of poison. The inquiry was then' adjourned'in order that further medical evidence might be obtained. Deceased was. to. have been . the defendant in an action in the Supreme Court, brought- by one of his sons, Mr. Percival E. Thatcher, and, his. defence had been filed the day before his death. Mr. Thatcher was educated at Rossall School in England -and arHved in New. Zealand 33 years ago. He took an active interest in sport, being a past president of' the Northern Boxing Association, of-which he had been a member since its inception; He is survived by his wife, five sons and three daughters. The funeral at Hillsborough cemetery yesterday was largely attended by representatives of the various 'bodies, with which-deceased had been connected. 5 The wreaths included emblems from the Northern Boxing Association arid the Royal Ancient Order of Buffaloes!
