ST JOHN AMBULANCE.
ACTIVITIES IN DOMINION. INCREASE IN CASES TREATED. The report on last year's operations of (ho St. John Ambulance Brigade within the Dominion contains some interesting particulars with regard to the activities of the various divisions. It is satisfactory to note the increase which has taken place in the work carried out when compared with previous years. Members of the brigade give their services gratuitously in attending various public functions, including sport and race meetings, and the report shows that the number of cases of first-aid attended to while so engaged was 4477, against 3824 for the previous year. The number of cases of transport of the sick and injured undertaken by the brigade was 1161, against 923 for the year preceding. The number of cases of first-aid treated by members when not engaged in public duty was 3603, also an advance on previous years. Members of nursing divisions nursed privately 264 cases. The report makes mention of the increased interest which is being taken in the work of the brigade, which is manifested by the formation of a number of new divisions, and the projected formation of others. . Altogether the work of this organisation is such as must commend itself to the general public.
