DYEING HINTS.
When dyeing woollen garments, always add a little soap to the water, for soap renders the garment soft and fleecy, and prevents it from shrinking. Jri dyeing cotton or silk goods, add a few drops of vinegar to the water. The dye will be clearer and better, and less likely to fade when in use. When old knitted garments are dyed, always 'lye a few odd lengths of wool fur mending purposes. Many people do not think of this, but it is a great saving, <jUid darns are hardly noticeable when the colour is exact. For dyeing tussore silk use permanganate of potash (a salt-spoon to a quart of water). Rinse veil.
