PRESENTATION S.
Mr. A. D. Gaunt, who for two and ahalf years has occupied the position of manager of the Newton branch of the Commercial Bank of Australia and who is leaving to take up the managership of the branch at New Plymouth, was the recipient of a handsome silver entree dish and an illuminated address yesterday afternoon. r I he presentation was made by Mr. W. Wallace at a large gathering of friends and customers of the bank. Prior to Leaving Te Awamutu to take up an appointment in Auckland Mr. E. A* Stevens was tendered a social by St. John's choir, Sunday school and parishioners. He was presented with a solid leather suitcase. Mrs. Stevens was organist and Sunday school superintendent. He took an active part in all social and musical functions. ' The gift of a handsome grandfather s clock was made to Mr. H. Valder, of Hamilton, yesterday by the members of the Main Trunk Timber Trade Protection Guild. Mr. - Valder is leaving Hamilton for a tour of America and England. Mr. J. Bush, chairman of the guild, paid a tribute to Mr. Valder s untiring efforts on behalf of the timber millers and spoke of his organising ability, business capacity and tact. Mr. arid Mrs. Valder were wished a pleasant tour. A presentation of a gold-mounted pencil was made by the executive of the Hamilton Automobile Association to Mr. J. W. Hodd, who is leaving Hamilton to take up his residence in-.Wellington. In asking Mr. Hodd's acceptance of the gift, Br. A. G. Wad dell said their departing member had been a tower 'of strength to the association and executive.
