FANCY DRESS BALL.
A successful fancy dress ball for children was held in the Town Hall concert chamber laqi evening in aid of the campaign to raise funds for the Roman Catholic Boys' School. Children to the number of 125 in various fancy dress costumes presented a pleasing and colourful spectacle as they filed past tho judges in the grand march. The prize for the most original dress was won by Lucy Elliot, of Green Lane, while the award for the best dress went to Maud Washington, Moffat Street, Ponsonby. Doreen Buchanan as an Irish lady and a special bridal set were also awarded prizes. The judges were Miss Hurley and Mr. Williams. During the evening, trophies won under the auspices of the -Auckland Roman Catholic Tennis Association were presented.
