FARMERS' CO-OPERATION.

In his annual report to Congress, the Secretary of Agriculture in the United States Government says: —"The most distinct and significant movement in American agriculture in this decade is the almost universal trend toward co-operation in the marketing and distribution of farm products. It is in no senso a regional or sectional movement, for it exists in all sections and is participated in to some extent by producers of practically all kinds of farm products. There has been some co-operation by farmers in the United States for many years, but within tho last two decades, and particularly during tho last decade, tho movement- has assumed proportion which indicates that it is a response to a fundamental and universal need of present-day American agriculture. It is highly significant from all points of view that tho best minds in agriculture, without regard to region or commodity, are unanimous in tho opinion that group action in marketing must bo added to individual efficiency in production if tho high standards of American farm life are to be preserved and agriculture is to maintain its proper placo in our national life."
