LARGE NATIVE GATHERING. [p»V TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRESPONDENT. ] TA UR ANO A, Wednesday. Natives, of the Ngaeterangi tribe recently completed the erection of a new meeting house and also renovated another at Whareroa. Opening celebrations oti an extensive scale are in progress, hundreds of Maoris from numerous settlements in the Bay of Plenty faking part. The Hockey Association's competition for the Innes Cup was opened this afternoon when True Blues defeated ltovers by 6 goals to 0. In the ladies' competition for the Gray Cup Aretas defeated ITinemoas by 4 goals to 1, and School beat Triers by 3 goals to 0.
