ADMIRAL SIR G. GAUNT.
RESIGNS FROM COMMONS. LONG ABSENCE FROM HOUSE. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Reed. 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, April 14. Admiral Sir Guy Gaunt, Conservative M.P. for Yorkshire, East Riding, has resigned his seat in the House of Commons. Admiral Sir Guy Gaunt has been absent from his place in the House of Commons for over a year. Early in February considerable speculation arose as to his whereabouts. Finally, on February 25, it was announced that he was at Victoria, British Columbia. Ho was fitting out ? four-masted schooner, the Four Winds, for a cruise the world. Sir Guy is a son of the i.atc Judge Gaunt, of Leek, Staffordshire, and Melbourne. He was born in 1870 and was educated at Melbourne Grammar School. He joined the Navy in 1895, aud retired in 1918.
