MOTOR-CYCLE SPEEDING.
A WANG AN UI COMPLAINT. Wanganui has no need for a motor speedway, judging by the manner in which motor-cyclists ri.se, or rather misuse, the tar-sealed roads in the city, says a local paper. At various times during the night the clatter like a machine-gun goes on, and residents hardly know what it is to have an undisturbed night's sleop. The timo when most of the speeding takes place is between 1 a.m. and 2 a.m., and it would be very interesting to have, stop-watches on the racing machines to learn whether they travel at 50 or 60 or even 70 miles an hour. Tho most disturbed say they estimate it at 70 miles lan hoar; others think it is only 50 or 60. The riders, if they wero brought before the magistrate, as they deserve to bo, would unquestionably say that they did' not exceed 25 miles. Something certainly needs to be done.
