A decision to form a Raglan Golf Club was reached at a meeting held in the Raglan parish hall this week. Mr. F. N. Hartley, who occupied the chair, said that Mr. C. N. Ralfe had placed his farm at the disposal of the club. A successful club had been in existence some years ago and had used the same farm, then the property of Mr. Langley. Officers were elected as follows: President. Mr. C. W. Ralfe; vice-presidents, Messrs. L. Parker, W. J. Petchell and C. Gilmour; secretary and treasurer. Mr. F. N. Hardey; committee. Dr. Cashmnre. Messrs. Laughton and Beaufort, Mrs. Orton Wallace and Miss Corbett. The subscription for the first year was fixed at £1 Is for all members. The question of junior members' subscriptions was referred to the committee for a report. It was resolved that the committee should draft rules for the club and submit them to the next general meeting. The official opening day has been fixed for June 3. although it is hoped that the links will be ready for play in about a fortnight. Sixteen playing members have given their names to the secretary and it is anticipated that this number will be doubled before the links are ready for play.
