A SHEPHERD DROWNED
RECOVERY OF THE BODY. ACCIDENT IN FLOODED RIVER. [BY TELEU. RA PH. —OWN Cl >JU».ES PON 1 >ENT. ] OAMARU. Fridny. The body of William Morgan, who was drowned when crossing the Dobson River a!. Lake \Vhau on Wednesday, was recovered on Thursday and conveyed to Kurow, where an inquest was held before Mr. J. Barclay, J.P., arid a jury. The evidence showed that deceased, who was? a shepherd aged about thirty employed on Glen Lyon station, was riding a horse 011 Wednesday and had to cross the. Dobson River, which was in flood.. A wound was found on his head when the body was discovered. It is presumed that this was caused by a kick from the horse.
The jury returned a verdict of acei dental drowning.
