THE MANAWATU GORGE.
SPEED LIMIT EXCEEDED.
Motorists from many part? of the North Island were charged at flic Palmerston North Magistrate's Court with having exceeded the speed limit of 15 miles an hour through the Manawatu Gorge. The prosecutions were brought by the Gorge Board of Control, and evidence was given that a test was taken over a distance of a quarter of a mile, an extra chain being allowed. The offenders were fined £5 and costs, £1 Bs.
