AUCKLAND STOCK EXCHANGE There was more business on the Auckland sharemarket yesterday. Government securities bad normal inquiry with practically no movement in quotations. In debentures there was a sale of New Zealand Breweries at 25s lOd, with more available at. 265, buyers at the sale figure.. In banks Nationals sold at £6 Ms 6d, closing quotations being holders £6 16s. buyers £6 14s. New South Wales changed hands at £44, equal to Tuesday's sale figure. Late holders asked 5s more, buyers £43 17s 6d. There was a transaction in New Zealands at 59s 9d, 6d over the previous day's sale figure, with more available at 60s, buyers 59s bd. Unions of Australia changed hands at £l4 17s 6d and £l4 ISs. Closing quotations were holders £l4 JSs 6d, buyers £l4 17s. In insurance South British again sold at 575, more being offered r.t 57s 9d, with buyers at sale figure. In gas there were two transactions in Ancklands at 22s 4d, Id below Saturday's sale price, and more wero offered at the same figure, buyers 22s 2<l. In miscellaneous Kejiipthonie-Fros-ser s New Zealand Drug sold at 67s 6d, tlie tirst. transaction si. ce early in February, when the figure was 68s 3d. More were available yesterday at 68s, with buyers offering Is less. Taranaki Oil changed hands at 8s 6d, 6d less than Tuesday's sale figure.
