MINE PARTIES AT LAW.
ENCROACHMENT ALLEGED. A DISPUTE ,IN WESTLAND. [BY TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION. ] GREYMOUTH, Tuesday. A claim for £6125, said to be , the largest of its kind in a Dominion Court, opened in the Warden's Court to-day, Mr. W. Meldruin presiding. 800 to and party alleged that about January 1, 1924, Armstrong and party broke and entered plaintiffs' coal mine, on the State mine reserve, near Dunollie, and took away large quantities of coal. The of the two parties adjoin, and the workings, it is alleged, are encroaching on each other.
The question of the Court's jurisdiction was argued. The warden decided that the Court had jurisdiction, and said it would hear evidence of February 5, counsel in.., the meantime to arrange for a surveyor to inspect the disputed locality.
