AUCKLAND STOCK EXCHANGE.

Good business "was done on the Auckland sharemarket yesterday. Government securities showed little alteration and there were no sales. In local body debentures, Hospital Boards changed hands at £9B, late inquiry being at £96 10s. In banks the contributing issuo of Australasias sold at £8 16s, New Zealands were steady at holders 56s 9d_, buyers 56s 6d. In insurances two transactions in New Zealands were recorded at 58s 6d, an advance of threepence on last week's sale figure. Closing holders improved to 395, buyers being unaltered at 38s 3d. South British were again available at 555, buyers offering 545. In timber there were sales in Kauris at 32s 6d and 32s 7d, closing quotations being holders 32s 9d, buyers 32s 3d In miscellaneous lines Colonial Sugar sold at £55 10s and £55 12s 6d. Late holders asked £55 15s, buyers being at £55. New Zealand Breweries changed hands at 59s 6d, a drop of .threepence-on the December price. Closing holders asked 60s, with buyers at 595. Staples' Breweries were bought for 40s 3d, a drop of threepence on last week's price. La to inquiry v.*as at 40s. Taranaki Oils sold at 13s 3d and 13s 6d. Closing holders wero at 14s, buyers 13s 3d. Wilsons Cements made a further advance to sell at 365, late buyers being at 35s 9d. In mining Kawaraus were a penny higher, selling at 6s Bd. Late buyers offered the sale figure, holders firming to 7s. Waihis were again available at 24buyers 23s 3d. The following sales took place:—Auckland Hospital Board debentures, £9B; National Bank of Australasia (con.), £8 16s; New Zealand Insurance, 38s 6d (two sales); Kauri Timber, 32s 6d, 32s 7d; Colonial Sugar, £55 10s, £55 12s 6d; New Zealand Breweries shares, 59s 6d; Staples Breweries, 40s 3d; Taranaki Oil, 13s 3d, 13s 6d; Wilsons Cement, 365; Kawarau, 6s Bd.
