PROMOTING AGRICULTURE.
THE FRANKLIN SOCIETY, [EY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT. ] PUKEKOHE, Monday. The executive of the Franklin Agricultural and Pastoral Society met, the president, Mr. W. J. A. Moore, occupying the chair. Tho president and secretary, Mr. D. R. Hamilton, were appointed delegates to the conference convened by the Auckland association to elect a representative to the Board of Agriculture, and it was resolved that the society nominate Mr. E. D. McLennan, the present representative, for a further term.
The secretary 'reported that the prospects for the society's forthcoming summer show, on February 26 and 27, were bright. Supervising stewards were appointed.
