FRANKLIN COUNTY WORKS.
THE ENGINEER'S PROGRAMME.

PUKEKOHE, Friday.
The report submitted by the engineer, Mr. J. F. McArthur, to the Franklin County Council, states that the second section of the Kcheroa deviation is well under way, "and will be completed in good time to enable metalling to be carried out during the present season. It is then proposed to send the teams to Happy Valley to carry out necessary work there. The construction of the section of the WaiauPapakura Road, McKenzies' to Yates', which is being carried out by county plapt, is nearing completion. The teaijis employed there will later undertake the formation of the Eamarama-Bombay Road, and metalling of portion of the Pukekohe East-Ramarama Road. Other teams are proceeding to the MangatangiNew Brighton Roads, and will prepare them for metalling. The Koheroa.Road and Bluff Road can then be proceeded with..
In the Waiuku Riding, when Barriball Road •is • completed, it is proposed to proceed with the formation of the Pukeowhare eastern access road, new subdivision roads at Glenbrook Beach, and other works. Bothwell Park Road, Otaua, has been metalled and rolled for a length of 80 chains. Harrfo Road, Otaua, has also been completed. The contractors are now employed conveying metal from Fernleigh Railway Station to Goodwin Road, Aka Aka. This should be finished by the end of the present month, The same contractors will then proceed with the metalling of the Karaka North Road, and will have four motor-trucks engaged on the contract. This road should be metalled in good time this season.
