AUCKLAND STOCK EXCHANGE.

Conditions on the Auckland shareroarkct maintained a normal level and a fair amount of business was done, llicie was steady inquiry for Government investment stocks and there was another sale of War Loans, 1958. at £96 ss. Late sellers quoted this price, which was 5s lower than Tuesday's closing figure, late buyers dropping 2s 6d to £96. The demand for the 1939 issue was also lower by 2s 6d at £96, with holders asking £96 10s. Inscribed Stock, 1927, at £93 7s 6d was wanted at £97 10s. Holders of the 1938 issue were up 2s 6d at £96 10s. In banks Now South' Wales had sale at £44, late sellers firm at £44 ss. New Zeal amis at sellers 56s 6d, buyers 56s 3d. were 3d lower in each case. In insurance New Zealands were again done at 38s 3d. South British had sale at 54s 9d, holders closing at 555, which was Is lower than 1 nesdav's price. Late buyers advanced 9d to 54s 3d. In coal Ptikemiro Collieries changed hands at 47s 6d. In gas there was a sale of Aucklands (con.) at 8s bd. There was general inquiry for miscellaneous lines at about late rates, but no business resulted. Taranaki Oils were unchanged at buyers 13s 6d. sellers 14s. In mining Waihis had buyers at 245, sellers asking 24s 6d, both an advance of 3d on Tuesday's figures. There was a further sale of Kawaraus at 7s, with more available at that price, buyers, 6s lid. The following sales took place :--War Loan, 1938, £96 ss; Bank of New South Wales, £44: New Zealand Insurance, 38s 3d; South British Insurance, 54s 9d ; Pukemiro Collieries, 47s 6d; Auckland Gas (con.), 8s 6d; Kawarau, 7s.
