PRESENTATIONS.
Mr. J. McGregor Craig, who has been promoted to the position of supervisor of the Auckland telegraph counters, was farewelled by his associates at the Devonport Post Office, who made him a presentation. Tho postmaster, Mr. F. M. Scully, complimented Mr. Craig on his / success as supervisor at Devonport and upon the ability which ho displayed when for some recent months he occupied the postmaster's position. Mr. J. Piatt, who has been in business at Opotiki for 20 years, is taking up residence at Auckland with his family. At ono timo ho was Mayor of Opotiki and was associated with other local bodies. He was a leading member of the Presbyterian Church and was president of the Tradesmen's Association, which accorded him a farewell. Mr. J. Main, on behalf of the members, presented Mr. Piatt, with a gold watch. He made eulogistic references to the services rendered by Mr. Piatt to the association, and expressed regret at his departure, other speakers voicing similar sentiments.
