Hill, of Gisborne, and Mr E. N. Valentine and Mr. E. M. Chainey of Hamilton, aro at the Royal Hotel. The Rev. S. Nixon, of Pukokohe, i s ai inmate of a private hospital in Auckland, being operated upon yesterday for appen dicitis. Mr. ,T. H. Buddie, of Rotorua, Mr. R J. Hislop, of Napier, and Mr. G, A, Nicholls, of Gisborno, aro at tho Central Hotel. Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Tinling, of Montreal, Canada, who are making a torn of New Zealand, will proceed to Rotorus this morning. Dr. and Mrs. D. Cohen, of Welling, ton, who have been deep-sea fishing in North Auckland, left for tho South bj train last evening. Mr. J. Hislop, Under-Secretary for In, ternal Affairs, who arrived from Welling, ton on Thursday evening, left yesterday for North Auckland. Mr. A. F. Grenfell, of Tnvcrcargill, \ and Mr. W. J. Higgins, Mr. W. p, Smith and Mr. A. Davis, of Wellington, aro at the Star Hotel. ; V Mr. A. V. Winchester, for tho past five years manager of _ the Bank of Australasia at Whangarei, has been appointed manager of tho bank at Christchurch.
