THE TOUR OF AUSTRALIA. PERFORMANCES TO DATE. EIGHT CENTURIES REGISTERED. The young Canterbury batsman, C. Oliver, heads the batting averages for the Australian tour ot' the New Zealand cricket team, lie did not do much in the first game against Queensland, but since then ho has batted well, his best score being 132', not out, against Wagga. C. Allcott is second. His highest score is the 116 which he made in the game with New South Wales. He also made 107 against Victoria, and is the only member of the team who has scored two centuries in test matches. 11. C. Blunt, who is third in the batting averages, has scored more runs than any other member of the side. He has passed the 500 mark. He has also made the highest individual score on the tour to date, namely, 216 against Goulbuni. The figures sho-v that C. Dacrc and T. C. Lowry have both proveo very useful as batsmen, and the 143 which W. R. Patrick scored against New South Wales has lifted him several places up the list. He now has the quite respectable average of 34.14. Blunt is still at the head of the bowling averages, but he is now not far ahead of W. Cunningham. Blunt and Cunningham are the only two bowlers who have an average of under 30 runs a wicket. At the end of the tour of the 1913-14 team four bowlers, N. C. Sneddon, D. Reese, D. Sandman and J. 11.
