ALLEGED BANK FRAUDS.
MANIPULATION OF CHEQUES. THREE MANAGERS ARRESTED. A. and N.Z. NEW YORK, Jan. G. Three men nameel Landon, Ruddy and Franks, managers of threo banks in Los Angeles, have been arrested at Los Angeles as the outcome of investigations by detectives of alleged cheque manipulations on .i large scale, causing losses totalling £IOO,OOO. John Pronk, who is alleged to have been the master mind in the conspiracy, fled to Mexico with over £40,000. Landon was his chief assistant.
Prouk kept two sets of books and eight different bank accounts. There were 50 employees in his office, dealing in automobiles, and often handling hundreds at a time, with drafts upon cities in the Eastern States.
