THE SHEFFIELD SHIELD. WOODFULL'S GREAT INNINGS. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Seed. 10.55 p.m.) MELBOURNE. Jan. 5. The weather was fine and cool and the wicket was in good order when Victoria resumed their second innings in the Sheffield Shield match against South Australia. Stumps were drawn with the total at 372 for three wickets (Woodfull, not out, 208, Hendry, 59, Ryder, not out. 66). Victoria played desperately, but runs camo slowly, the batsmen taking no chances against the excellent bowling. Woodfull fought a magnificent uphill battle. He did not take a single risk and played a brilliant innings.
