SCIENCE AND DISEASE.

NEW ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE CASES. A. and N.. NEW YORK, Jan. 4. A message from Portland, Oregon, states that Mr. Joseph Pos, scientist and engineer, has invented an electrical apparatus which appears to have relieved for at least temporarily, cases of high blood pressure where established medical j methods have failed. Mr. Pos declares that the machine is : merely an adaptation of a new scientific ; principle that he evolved through a modifiI cation of the Einstein theory. It inI volvcs what is called "time impulse" in- | stead of "space impulse," after which is I computed the so-called "frequency" of the j blood of the human body. He says that ! he was able to devise an apparatus which induces correct vibrations and restores the normal blood pressure. The Physicians' Association, which has investigated 13 cases which havo been undergoing treatment by the process, has reported that the blood pressures of men and women, which was between 190 and 290, were all brought down to normal and remained there at the end of four months. The Council of the American Medical Association is now investigating the device. Mr. Pos claims that by the same principle other diseases can be cured.
