MELBOURNE SORTERS' TASK. MELBOURNE. Dec. 21. The Melbourne General Post Office night staff of 250 men sorted nearly 1,000,000 letters last night. This was in addition to 220,000 packets. The night staff has sorted this week for Monday delivery, 601,000 letters, 100.000 packets; Tuesday, 652,500 letters, 120,000 packets; Wednesday, 741,000 letters', 176,000 packets; Thursday, 800,000 . letters, 220,000 packets. '
