The position of the players at present in the chess championship is as follows Crakanthorp, 4£; Barnes, Dunlop, 3; Stenhouse, 3; Moir, 2; Erskine, 1^; Pihl, 1£; Anderson, 1. In the consolation match, in round one, Purdy beat Miller, Davis beat Fairburn. and Kelling beat E. E. Hicks. In round two Davis beat Kelling and Purdy beat Hicks. In the third round Millar beat Fairburn.
