WEEK-END WEATHER. HERALD'S SPECIAL FORECAST. The following weather forecast for 48 hours from 7 a.m. to-day was supplied to us by Mr. H. M. Vincent last evening:— Squally and unsettled weather is indicated, with heavy showers, especially in western and southern districts, although fine intervals will intervene. An intense Antarctic storm system is centred to the south-west, and cold, wintry weather, with hail in places, will prevail generally. Westerly to .south-westerly winds, strong to gale. Heavy seas on west coast. Barometer, midnight, 29.55 in.; falling. GOVERNMENT REPORT. The Government meteorologist reported last evening as follows:—Present indications are for stormy weather, strong southerly winds, with heavy seas, especially on the east coast. RAINFALL RECORD.
