WEDDINGS.

The marriage took place on Monday afternoon, December 21, at St. Mary's Cathedral, of Miss Lily Knight, younger ! daughter of Mrs. J. I. Knight, Takapuna, to Mr. T. S. Davies, younger son of the late Mr. Davies and Mrs, Davies, 01 Birkenhead. The bride, who was given away by her brother, Mr. H. Knight, wore a charming frock of deep creme georgette and Brussels lace With gold tissue hat, and carried a sheaf of yellow roses and pale pink gladiolas, The bride was attended by Miss Edna Noton, who wore cyclamen georgette with deeper toned crinoline hat, and carried a sheaf of blue delphiniums. Miss Gabrielle Hodgson was flower girl, and wore salmon pink georgette with creme lace, and carried an early Victorian posy. The bridegroom was assisted by Mr. Rogers as best mau. A pretty wedding was solemnised at the Nelson Cathedral, on Wednesday, December 23, when Miss Inez Rosalie Hepworth, eldest daughter of the late Major William Hepworth, of Mafeking, South Africa, and Mrs. Hepworth, of Nelson, was married to Mr. Ernest Sor-tain-Smith, of Masterton, younger son of Mr. William'and the late Mrs SortainSmith, of Wellington. The Dean or Nelson officiated. The bride, who was given away by her brother, Mr. Cecil John Hepworth, wore a gown of ivory crepe de chine and georgette with a court train of ivory satin crepe lined with goldcoloured crepe de chine. She wore the customary veil of net and orange blossoms and carried a sheaf of Christmas lilies and orange blossoms. The bridesmaids were Miss Patricia Hepworth (sister) and Miss Essie Hair, who wore frocks of mauve and blue georgette respectively with jazz caps of jet and black tulle. They carried shower bouquets of mauve and pink sweet peas. The best man was Mr. Alan Watlcins, of Dannevirke.
