SPEEDWAY TRAGEDY.

RACING MOTOR CRASHES. TWO OCCUPANTS KILLED. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association (Reed. 1.55 a.m.) SYDNEY, Dec. 30. The first fatality on the Maroubra speedway occurred when a powerful racing car, <yhieh was being tested, and driven by Mr. Lee J. Salmon, chairman of directors of Salmons Motors, Ltd., accompanied by Mr. Albert Vaughan, a director of the same company, got out of control while travelling at 85 miles an hour. The car was hurled through the air a distance of 25 feet and turned a somersault. It crashed over the embankment at the side of the track. Mr. Salmon was killed instantly, and Mr. Vaughan, who was frightfully injured, died shortly afterwards.
