TO-DAY'S WEATHER. HERALD'S SPECIAL FORECAST. The following weather forecast for 48 j hours from 7 a.m. to-day was supplied to us by Mr. If. M. Vincent last evening:— The weather will become temporarily cloudy to overcast, with rain following over most of the Dominion. Warm and humid conditions. North-westerly to westerly winds, moderate to strong, freshening, and backing to south. Seas moderate. Although rain is expected before New Year's Day, conditions will improve again for the holidays, and the weather during Friday and Saturday should bo mainly fine. Barometer, midnight, 30.15 in.; steady. GOVERNMENT REPORT. The Government meteorologist reported last evening as follows: —Present indications are for moderate to strong northwesterly to south-westerly winds, weather dull and humid, misty rain probable on the western Coast and in southern districts.
