The Minister for Finance, M. Loucheur, has resigned. In a letter accompanying his resignation, M. Loucheur says the projects which were agreed to by the Cabinet must bo accepted eventually. They cannot bo retarded by questions of personality. The Cabinet is to meet this morning. Its meeting yesterday morning was stormy. M. Loucheur insisted that the whole Ministry was involved, as it had endorsed his policy. It was stated yesterday that the financial position was growing more serious and that M. Loucheur unexpectedly expressed a desire to remain in office. His resignation will allow the Premior, M. Briand, to reshuffle the portfolios. In somo quarters the return of M. Caillaux, the lato Minister for Finance, is being urged. Notwithstanding the rejection by the Finance Committee of the Chamber of Deputies of certain of M. Loucheur's financial proposals, the Cabinet, with the exception of M. Loucheur, is expected to remain in office.
