CONSTRUCTION OF WHARVES. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] TAURANGA. Tuesday. At a meeting of the Tauranga Harbour Board it was decided that the matter of the erection of a temporary jetty at Sulphur Point by the White Island Agricultural Chemical Co., Ltd., be referred to the board's engineer for a report and that upon such report being received the Finance Committee be authorised to come to a decision and advise t.ho compnnv accordingly. The board also adopted a motion to the effect that it is prepared to enter into a guarantee with the company that it will undertake to construct a new wharf at Mount Maunganui and that as the suggested concrete wharf is considered too expensive, instructions be given to the engineer to give an estimate for an alternative structure in timber.
