RADIO BROADCASTING.

SYSTEM IN ENGLAND. IMPROVEMENTS SUGGESTED. (Received 5.5 p.m.) Sun. LONDON. Dec. 6. Sir Arthur Stanley give evidence before the Broadcasting Committee to-day. He presented proposals for fuller State control of broadcasting through a commission to consist of one member of the House of Commons and representatives of the Post Office and listeners-in, also science, education, art and radio manufacturers, with a progiamme advisory committee. Witness suggested that the assets and .staff of the Broadcasting Company should be transferred to the commission. Professor Low, professor of civil and mechanical engineering at the London "University, urged that the revenue from licenses should be devoted wholly to the maintenance and improvement of programmes and the punishment of persons who interfered with reception by oscillation. Educational programmes were best when they were given on a special wavelength to enable listeners to tune-in.
