Mr. F. J. Wilson, of Wellington, is at the Royal Hotel. Mr. and Mrs. H. St. Leger, of Gisborne, are at the Hotel Cargen. Mr. and Mrs. D. N. Manning, of New York, are at the Hotel Cargen. Mr. N. Atkin and Mr. E. J. Babbit, of Sydney, are at the Royal Hotel. Mr. B. Hutcheson, of London, and Mr. J. Wareing, of Liverpool, are at the Star Hotel. Sir Douglas Mawson, the Antarctic explorer, will arrive in New Zealand early in the New Year, Mr. F. J. Nathan and Mr. G. Toogood, of Wellington, and Mr. H. G. Warren, of Napier, are at the Grand Hotel. Mr. R. W. Dalton, His Majesty's Trade Commissioner in Australia, was a passenger for Sydney by the Aorangi last evening. Mr. N- Francis, president of the Christchurch Rotary Club, was present at the meeting of the Auckland Rotary Club yesterday. Mr. C. S. Teschemaker, of London. Mr. C. 11. Wickham, of Hartford, United States, and Mr. W, E. Mitchell, of Sydney, are at the Grand Hotel.. Mr. C. A. Mitchell, Mr. S. J. Newland, and Mr. F. V. Sanderson, of Wellington, and Mr. F. A. Cousins, of Palmerston North, are at the Central Hotel. Mr. and Mrs. Hunter Weston, of Timaru, who have spirit several months in Vancouver, returned by the Aorangi and left for the South by train last evening. Mr. Norman B. Casey, superintendent of Fijian prisons, and Mrs. Casey, who have been spending a holiday in Auckland, left for Sydney by the Aorangi last evening. Mr. Hugh Middleton Blakeley, of Christchurch, late of Auckland, has passed his final examination at the University of Otago for the Degree of Bachelor of Dental Surgery. Mr. and Mrs. Dudley Edwards, of London, Mr. and Mrs. 13. S. Massy, of Hull, Mr. and Mrs. D. W. Costello, of New York, Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Priestley, of Vancouver, and Mr. and Mrs. G-. Newman, of Los Angeles, are at the Grand Hotel. Mr. C. F- E. Barton, who has appointed clerk to the Matamata County Council, has resigned his position as clerk to the Kawhia County Council, after 18 years' service. Mr. Barton has been given three months' leave of absence, and was j presented by a testimonial signed by all j the members of the council. Dr. Malcolm T. MacEachern, associate director of the American College of Surgeons, and the greatest authority or! hospital management and efficiency in America, was a guest at the Auckland Rotary Club luncheon yesterday. He stated he brought a message of good fellowship and friendship from the Chicago and Vancouver Rotary Clubs.
