"SANTA GLAUS BRIGADE."
CHRISTMAS GIFT APPEAL. An article of special interest to all Auckland boys and girls is published in the children's column of tho Herald supplement to-day. In this article an appeal is made by Elsie Iv. Morton for Christmas gifts and toys for the children in homes visited by the district nurses of tho St. John Ambulance AssociationMany generous contributions are made each" year by philanthropic Aucklanders to various Christmas funds, and many Christmas treats are provided for poor aud orphaned children, but Miss Morton's appeal is directed to the. children, and will no't clash with any other effort. The St. John nurses work in the poorest homes of the city, where there will be but little Christmas joy or good cheer unless, it bo provided through the bounty and generosity of others. Children arc quick and generous givers, and there will, no doubt, be many Auckland boys and girls who will gladly form themselves into a " Santa Clans Brigade," as suggested"in Miss Morton's article.
