The Union Company's passenger steamer Arahura, which has been sold to the Anchor Company, will bo overhauled at Ne]«on by her new owners, and is expected to be ready to enter the Wellington-Nelson service on December 7 in placo of the Nikau. The Mararoa will maintain the PictonWel ling ton service until the Tamanine arrives. The Arahura is a stool twinscrew vessel with a gross tonnage of 1596 She was built in 1905 by W. Denny and Bros., Dumbarton.

WAITOMO DUE TO-DAY. The Union Company's cargo steamer Waitorno is expected from Newcastle this evening and will berth t'o-morrow to discharge coal. She has 21 bags of Australian mail. THE RARANGA. The Shaw, Savill and Albion steamer Raranga, which arrived from Wellington on Sunday to fill up for London, is expected to sail finally about Saturday. L. D. Nathan and Co., Ltd., are the local agents. MATAKANA'S LOADING. At present loading for London at Queen's Wharf, the Shaw, Savill and Albion steamer Matakaaa is expected to sail on Thursday to fill up in the South. L. D. Nathan and Co., Ltd., are the Auckland agents. HINEMOA DUE TO-MORROW. The Government steamer Hinemoa was delayed in her departure from Niue Island and is not expected at Auckland until tomorrow. She is later to tow the hulk of the Talune to Waikokopu to be sunk. THE TUTANEKAI. The Government steamer Tutanekai, which has completed her visits to the lighthouses and beacons in the Hauraki Gulf, sailed for Wellington at 8.20 a.m. PORT BOWEN DUE THURSDAY. A wireless message has been received by Heather. Roberton, Ltd., from the master of the Port Bowen, which expects to arrive in the stream at 7 a.m. on Thursday from Liverpool and Glasgow. She is bringing 11 passengers and 4000 tons of general cargo for Auckland and will also discharge at Wellington, Lyitelton and Dunedin. PORT NICHOLSON DELAYED. "Owing to boisterous weather conditions which have prevailed at Gisborne for some days, the Port Nicholson will not arrive at Auckland until daylight on Thursday. She is to continue loading hero for Havre, Antwerp and London. The Farmers' Auctioneering Company are the local agents. CANADIAN SPINNER, The Canadian Government steamer Canadian Spinner, which left Auckland on October Ifi, has arrived at Panama, en route to New York, Boston and Halifax. After discharge jshe will proceed to Montreal to load for New Zealand. THE WEST CAHOKIA. Messrs. Henderson and Macfarlane expect to despatch the Swayne and Hovte Line steamer West Cahokia, for Wellington and Nelson on Thursday. After discharge of cargo from San Francisco in the South she will proceed to Melbourne and Sydney, and will later return to the Pacific Coast to load for New Zealand. CUTCOMBE FROM NAURU. The chartered steamer Cutcombe will leave Nauru Island to-morrow for New Plymouth direct, and will discharge 3000 tons of phosphate on arrival toward the end of the mcnth. She is due at Auckland about December 10 to unload 4700 tons of phosphate to the agoncy of Messrs. Henderson and Macfarlane. WHANGAPE TO LOAD AT SYDNEY. The Union Company's intercolonial steamer Maheno, which has been delayed at Wellington on account of crew trouble, was expected to leave for Sydney at 3 p.m. yesterday, which is three da-ys behind time. It haa been arranged for the Whfingape to bring cargo from Sydney to Auckland, and she will load there about Saturday. LEITRIM'S NEW PROGRAMME. The Ne%v Zealand Shipping Company advises that the Leitrim will now arrive _at Auckland from Opua next Tuesday. She will leave Wellington on Thursday for Opua to load frozen meat. After loading hero she will sail for Gisborne on November 28 to fill up, and will leave for New York and We3t Coast of England ports on December 8. HORORATA TO FILL UP. The Hororata is due at Auckland next Monday from Waikokopu to complete loading for London. The Now Zealand Shipping Company advises that she will sail finally on November 25 and proceed via Montevideo. ROTORUA FOR GISBORNE. The New Zealand Shipping Company s liner Rotorua will leave for Gisborne tomorrow to continue loading for Southampton and London. Shs* will later proceed to Xapier and Wellington, sailing finally on December 5, via Pitcairn Island, Panama and Curacao. WITHIN WIRELESS RANGE.
