TWO BOYS STEAL SWEETS.
PROBATION FOR ELDER ONE. A youth of 17 and a much smaller boy appeared in the Juvenile Court on Saturday, before Mr. F. 11. Hunt, S.M., charged with stealing on separate dates two tins and ono glass jar of sweets, the total value being 13s. In a statement the elder boy said he suggested to the younger one that they should take the sweets from the counters of shops in Surrey Crescent. The younger boy went in and took them while hj« waited outside. As his companion was so much younger than himself he would take all the blame for the offences. The younger boy was admonished and discharged. In reply to a question, the elder boy said he spent his evenings at the pictures. He was placed on probation for two rears, one condition being that he is not to co to the pictures, and is to attend £. certain number of evening classes at 'he Technical College,
