The Tanrangi County Council has decided to ask the Valuation Department what the cost would be of making a new valuation of the county. The Cadets Old Boys' Football Club held a social last evening, when the trophies won by the club in the Rugby Union's competitions this season were presented to captains of the respective teams by Mr. J. A. Jordan, president of the Tauranga Rugby Union. The, John Reid Cup was presented to G. lies, captain of the senior fifteen, the Oliver Cup to W. Turner, for the jrnior team, and the Jordan banner to G. Derniiston, captain of the third grade team. Jack Smith, captain of Tauratjga school team, was presented with a football won by his team in the primary schools competition. The other trophy in R'-gbv Union's competition, the Jordan Cup, was won by Te Puna. The fine weather of the, past fortnight has been welcomed by farmers, as it has enabled them to expedite drilling; of the maiae crops, of which n large acreage has been planted in this conntv and at Motiti and flush of feed everywhere and the dnir.v herds are now at maximum yielding capacity. Many crops of lu 'erne are cut and ready for harvesting, and the meadow hay crops are approaching the same stage.
