FOUND SHOT ON WHARF.
discovery at surfdale. The bodv of Thomas Henry O'Brien, about 57, a road contractor, employed at Surfdale, was found in the waiting-shod on the Surfdale Wharf early yesterday morning. There was a gunshot wound in deceased's head and a shotgun wus underneath the body. Mrs. O'Brien resides at Kingsland. An inquest was held by the coroner, Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., yesterday. Arthur Randolph Sullivan, O'Brien's workmate, said he found a letter on the table in their hut, which caused him to proceed to the shed, where he found the body. In the letter, which was addressed to his wife and family, O'Brien asked that there should be no mourning for him and said he could not help himself. A verdict of suicide by shooting was returned.
