CRICKET.
AUCKLAND ASSOCIATION. INSPECTION OF GROUNDS. The Management Committee of the Auckland Cricket Association met last evening, the chairman, Mr, E. E, N alder, presiding Messrs. N. C. Saedden and E. u. Beale were appointed to report on the condition of Victoria Paik and the Domain respectively and to see whan a start could be made with matches on the grounds. Ihe closing date of entries will not be decided upon until the reports have been made, Me?firs. C. Aicken and Sons have donated a silver cup as a championship trophy for the third grade. The cup is to be known as the Opotiki Cup. It was resolved that a letter of appreciation and thanks be sMt to the donora. . Mr. W. Dow was appointed results steward. The proposal to establish a Junior Advisory Board is receiving consideration. A special general. meeting to deal with the matter will be Held in the near future.
